Robert works where possible with natural light, to capture images that are individual to each wedding. His aim is always to produce a body of work that is true to the atmosphere, and spirit of the day. Working primarily in a reportage style, with a mixture of black and white and colour, he will also produce a beautiful set of more formal portraits and group shots as part of his service. It is, however, his skill in observation and his reaction to the events that unfold on the day that give the photographs their life and energy. Robert consults closely with the couple to best tailor his work to their requirements.
He loves photographing people and tries to do so in as interesting and flattering a way as possible, while hopefully revealing something of the character and personality of everyone involved. He has been fortunate to photograph the weddings of artists, photographers, stylists, and other visually literate people including a Vogue fashion editor, and has had a feature on his work in the British Journal of Photography.
